Margarita’s are one of the most commonly known cocktails in the world. Survey’s show that the margarita is the most popular cocktail ordered in resturants and bars. There are two different ways the classic cocktail is served, frozen or on the rocks in which 60% of margaritas are served on the rocks and 40% are served frozen. Either way served, all margaritas need salt! Margaritas represent 18% of all mixed drink sales in the U.S. in 2008 and continue to grow in percentage every year (Cheers On-Premise Handbook 2008). The consumption of margaritas peaked in our core market of the southern region (Alabama, Florida and Texas) in the U.S accounting for approximately 35% of total sales(Cheers On-Premise Handbook 2008). It’s great to know that the margarita is going strong and will continue to in the future. That means more need for Twang-a-rita flavored margarita salts!
